Atlanta Police Department inside the city; other city police departments elsewhere in the county. Prior calls for service and incident reports at the property address can show whether the owner was on notice. We request them through Georgia’s Open Records Act.
Where a case may be filed
Many injury cases against property owners are filed in the State Court of Fulton County or Superior Court of Fulton County, though the right court depends on who is sued and where they are located.
What to do now
- Get medical care and keep every record.
- Get the police report number from the responding agency.
- Photograph broken gates, doors, locks and lights, with dates.
- Save texts and emails with management.
